This Privacy Policy applies to brickpi.com, operated by Modular Robotics. We are committed to handling your personal data responsibly and in compliance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and other applicable privacy laws.

1. What Data We Collect

Analytics (GoatCounter)

We use GoatCounter, a privacy-friendly, open-source analytics tool that we self-host on our own servers. GoatCounter does not use cookies, does not track you across websites, and does not build personal profiles.

The following anonymous, aggregate data is collected on each page visit:

• Page URL visited
• Referrer URL (where you came from)
• Browser and operating system (derived from the User-Agent header, then discarded)
• Screen size
• Country (derived from IP address — the IP address itself is never stored)

This data cannot be used to identify you personally. No data is shared with third parties. The analytics are hosted on our own server.

Purchases (Shopify)

When you click "Buy Now" or add a product to your cart, you interact with a buy button powered by Shopify. The checkout process is handled entirely by Shopify, and their privacy policy applies to any data you submit during purchase (name, address, payment details). We do not store your payment information.

To fulfill your order, your name and shipping address are shared with the following third parties:

• ShipStation — our order fulfillment and shipping management platform (ShipStation Privacy Policy)
• Shipping carriers (such as UPS, USPS, FedEx, or DHL) — who receive your name and address solely to deliver your order
• QuickBooks Online (Intuit) — our accounting platform, which receives your name, shipping address, and order details for invoicing and financial record-keeping purposes (Intuit Privacy Statement)

These parties receive only the information necessary for their specific purpose and are not permitted to use it for any other purpose.

No Other Tracking

We do not use Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, or any other third-party tracking scripts. We do not use advertising cookies or retargeting.

2. Legal Basis for Processing (GDPR)

Our use of GoatCounter analytics is based on our legitimate interest (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR) in understanding how visitors use our website in order to improve it. Because GoatCounter collects no personal data and sets no cookies, no consent banner is required under GDPR or the ePrivacy Directive.

3. Cookies

This website does not set any cookies of its own. Shopify's buy button widget may set a session cookie if you interact with the cart. This cookie is strictly necessary for the shopping cart to function and does not track you for advertising purposes.

4. Data Retention

Anonymous analytics data (page counts, referrers, countries) is retained indefinitely in aggregate form for trend analysis. No personally identifiable data is retained by us.

5. Your Rights

Under GDPR, you have the right to access, rectify, erase, and restrict processing of your personal data. Because we do not collect or store personal data on this site, there is nothing to request from us directly. For data related to a purchase, please contact Shopify.

6. Third-Party Links

This site contains links to external sites (GitHub, forums, Shopify). We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those sites and encourage you to review their policies.
